Assistant Chief Security Officer

The Assistant Chief Security Officer is the second in command of the Security Department. He/she answers directly to the Chief of Security. His/her primary role is to provide leadership amongst the department, and help the Chief of Security with their duties. Their secondary role is to act as Security Chief when the Security Chief is off duty, or unavailable.

He/she is to ensure the safety of ship and crew. Some take it as their personal duty to protect the Commanding/Executive Officer on away teams. She/he is also responsible for people under arrest and the safety of guests, liked or not.

The Security Department is responsible for all the crew members in her/his department and duty rosters. Security could be called the 24th century police force.
