Confidential Records

The confidential record is for portions of your service record which may be classified, or otherwise confidential. They will later be integrated by staff into your service record, and will be viewed by those who have the intelligence clearance to view them. Most characters will NOT have any confidential records.

Sample Confidential Record

32271.2: Prior to service in Starfleet, was found guilty of murdering a Ferengi merchant in self defense. The Ferengi was corrupt, and involved in a plot against several Federation Diplomats. Part of his plea bargain with authorities to lesson his sentence, was for him to join Starfleet after serving his prison term. [Viewable for Intelligence Clearance Zeta]

Entering the Record

When entering your Confidential Record, you will need to decide what level of classification it receives. If you are unsure, ask a Wizard for help. The levels are:

  • 1 (Alpha) - Public Information. Accessible to Non-Federation citizens.
  • 2 (Beta) - Public Federation Information. Accessible to all Federation citizens.
  • 3 (Gamma) - General Crew. Accessible to all Starfleet officers, enlisted and non-enlisted.
  • 4 (Delta) - Departmental/Priviledged Crew. Department-specific information accessible to members of the department (i.e., medical records accessible to medical personnel). Information accessible to priviledged non-Senior Staff members.
  • 5 (Epsilon) - Department Heads. Accessible to senior staff personnel, senior officers, and department heads.
  • 6 (Zeta) - First Officer. Accessible to executive officers and above, only.
  • 7 (Eta) - Captain. Accessible to commanding officers and above, only.
  • 8 (Theta) - Admirality. Accessible to Starfleet Admials only.

To set a confidential record entry: '+cg/CR <stardate>=<classification level>/<entry>'
To view your confidential record entry: '+cg/CR'
To clear a confidential record entry: '+cg/cR <stardate>='

Example: +cg/CR 32271.2=6/Prior to service in Starfleet, was found guilty of murdering a Ferengi merchant in self defense. Remember, these record entries all require the use of Stardates, not normal, Terran dates. The game contains a command that allows you to translate them. The command is:
+td2sd <month> <day> <year>
Example: +td2sd Jan 01 2370
